AIHI Launches Center of Excellence
Acenda is proud to launch it’s Center of Excellence as a component within the Acenda Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI).
GLASSBORO, NJ (July 16, 2021) — As a pillar within Acenda’s Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), the Center of Excellence (COE) will address the social determinants of health with an emphasis on reduction in public health disparities and social inequities through research, teaching, learning, training, advocacy, as a part of integrated service delivery system within Acenda.
“The Center of Excellence is an essential pillar within our Acenda Institute of Health Innovation,” says Melissa Fox, MHA, FACMPE, FACHE, Acenda Chief Operating Officer. “AIHI’s COE truly allows us to focus on helping those who need it most in our communities.”
AIHI’s Center of Excellence will partner with local, national, and even international leaders and academic institutions to create opportunities for those in need. This initiative will expand existing frameworks and create new ways to address the systemic issues that plague many communities.
AIHI’s COE will focus on mental health, substance use, lack of employment, crime, housing, access to educational opportunities, barriers to transportation, trauma impact centered on adverse childhood experiences, child abuse and neglect, maternal health, criminal and juvenile justice, and food insecurity.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to provide these specialized services to address the social determinants of health,” says Monica Lallo, Ed.D., MPA, MPM, Senior Vice President of Prevention, Youth, and Education Services at Acenda. “AIHI’s COE aims to close the gap in social disparities and promote access to healthcare for all.”
Industry professionals and community members will have the opportunity to obtain membership and the ability to share resources and information that will benefit programs across the state of New Jersey to improve the health and well-being of infants, children, and families.
